Texas’ 2024 recruiting class continues to climb in the rankings with the addition of Black
Four-star safety Kobe Black committed to Texas, propelling the Longhorns 2024 class up five spots in the team recruiting rankings, according 247Sports. The Waco, Texas, defensive back is ranked as the nation’s #4 safety and the No. 11 prospect from the Lone Star State.
With 21 commitments, the Longhorns climb from the No. 11 to the No. 6 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle. In the SEC recruiting rankings, it also moves Texas up to No. 4 from No. 6 as the Longhorns get ready for their first season in their new conference.
Black said, “They’ve been on me since day one,” to 247Sports.”Love has existed forever. They have followed me since the beginning of my recruiting, and as you can see, the programme is continually improving. Simply put, I want to be a part of Texas’ family-like atmosphere.”
Many of the nation’s best programmes pursued Black. Black students had access to at least thirty universities, including Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
Black commits to Texas just before the NCAA Early Signing Period, making her the fifth top-100 player in the 2024 cycle to do so. According to 247Sports, he plans to register early and will be able to take part in team drills prior to the Longhorns’ Sugar Bowl game versus Washington in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
As it prepares for the College Football Playoff, Texas is 12-1. Most recently, the team won the Big 12 championship for the first time since 2009. With 12 victories to date, the Longhorns have also had the most since that campaign.
