Portland may send two forwards and two coaches to the Hall of Fame.
The Portland Trail Blazers have selected three coaches and players that are eligible to be voted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2024. Among the 36 possible contenders for the Men’s side of the Hall of Fame were current Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, championship forward Maurice Lucas, and forward Buck Williams, who played in the 1990s and 2000s. Each of the three applicants has previously qualified.
Returning contenders Tom Chambers, Reggie Theus, and Shawn Marion are joined in the race by newcomers Vince Carter, Bill Laimbeer, and the 2008 U.S. Olympic “Redeem Team.”
Three-time NBA All-Star Williams was a member of the Blazers from 1989 to 1996. Throughout the course of his 17-year career, he has averaged 12.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game across 1307 regular-season games.

He participated in five NBA All-Star games, and in 1977, he and Bill Walton won an NBA Championship in Portland. Over the course of 855 games, Lucas averaged 14.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
Currently serving as Portland’s head coach is Chauncey Billups. Throughout his 17 NBA seasons, he played for the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New York Knicks. He received five NBA All-Star nods and won a title with the Pistons in 2004. Billups produced a career average of 15.2 points and 5.4 assists per game over 1043 contests.
