In reaction to Kenny Pickett’s conjectures, Terry Bradshaw informs the Pittsburgh Steelers, “You don’t need [Justin] Fields.”
Kenny Pickett is the team’s quarterback, and famous Pittsburgh Steelers coach Terry Bradshaw is emphatic about it.
Pittsburgh Steelers legend discusses the team’s quarterback problems.
The four-time Super Bowl champion was blunt in his assessment of what the Steelers should do with Pickett during a recent interview on “The Rich Eisen Show,” saying they should hang onto the 2022 first-round pick. Furthermore, if it were up to him, Bradshaw said categorically that the Steelers would not entertain a trade for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields (h/t CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo).
Bradshaw said Fields is not required. “Achieve by using what you have.” Just keep building, Pickett. Get him a different receiver. Give him a burning tight end. Assign another tackle and a guard to him. possessed the ability to protect him. and sent others outside to assist him. At the moment, this is a passing league. Get him some educated guys who can sprint and catch the football.
Several teams have been identified as potential destinations for Fields in a trade; he is already worried about the stability of his own employment in Windy City. The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of such teams. Despite their declaration that they are committed to Pickett, the Steelers have the right to look for a replacement behind centre if the opportunity presents itself prior to the 2024 NFL season. They have the 20th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which they may use to choose a new signal-caller in addition to trading for a quarterback.
Pickett has only played in two professional seasons, so it’s likely that he is still developing. He’ll probably use this year to prove himself for Pittsburgh, which hasn’t advanced past the wild-card round.
