When Mark Williams and Jack Lisowski compete in the Macau Masters final on Friday, they want to ring in the New Year in style by taking home a £150,000 winner’s check. Thursday’s semi-final saw three-time world champion Williams defeat Judd Trump 6-2, while Jack Lisowski triumphed over Marco Fu by the same score. Next week, both guys will be back in action at the Masters in London.

At the Wynn Palace, Lisowski defeated Marco Fu by the same score in the other semifinal match, while Williams defeated Judd Trump 6-2 in the first round.
While the winner of the eight-man exhibition tournament on Friday will receive a £150,000 winner’s cheque, the eight players will each receive appearance money of over £35,000. As a result, their total profits from travelling to the south coast of China may be closer to £200,000.
In a 6-2 victory over Kyren Wilson in the quarterfinals, Lisowski scored four consecutive hundreds and concluded with a fifth, with Wilson hitting two tonnes in the frames he won.
World No. 1 Ronnie O’Sullivan fell short of Mark Fu 6-2 in the last eight, but he’s coming back to the UK to take on Ding on Monday, January 8 in London in an attempt to extend his record to an unprecedented eighth Masters triumph.
