Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool-player ratings as Harvey Elliott and Alisson excellent against Crystal Palace

Ian Doyle’s evaluations of Liverpool players following their 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park

Virgil van Dijk 9

A stream of decent clearing headers as the home side sought to threaten from set-pieces. Another excellent showing.

Kostas Tsimikas 6

Solid enough defensively but not much invitation to get forward first half but began to become more of a threat late on.

Alisson Becker 9

Superb save to deny Lerma first half and did well to get out of the way of the rebound off the post. Magnificent save to deny Andersen at death.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 7

Unable to affect the game often enough at right-back but started to show more when moving into midfield permanently second half.

Jarell Quansah 6

Composed enough when covering rare Palace counters before interval but caught out by Mateta when conceding the penalty. Subbed.

Ryan Gravenberch 5

Didn’t impact the game anywhere near enough and sloppy at times in possession. Subbed.

Mohamed Salah 7

Barely involved first half with service to his flank extremely intermittent, but still scored his 200th Liverpool goal after break with a big help from former team-mate Clyne and then assisted winner.

Darwin Nunez 4

Constantly wandered offside first half and spent too much time out of central areas. No sign of improvement after break. Subbed.

Wataru Endo 5

Too easily knocked off the ball at times, although one occasion was rightly given as a foul to disallow award of Palace penalty. Subbed.

Dominik Szoboszlai 5

Sought to inject a little tempo first half with some of his passing and at least had a shot. Disappeared after the break, though. Subbed.

Luis Diaz 6

Showed in patches early on but far too eager to cut inside rather than take on his marker. Became a bit more dangerous during the closing quarter.

Joe Gomez

Allowed Alexander-Arnold to move into midfield, and offered himself on the overlap regularly once Palace were down to 10. Booked.

Ibrahima Konate

Another slightly unorthodox showing from the Frenchman.

Cody Gakpo

Did well to get a cross in to help create the equaliser.

Curtis Jones

Good composure in the area to set up Salah strike and added bite to midfield effort.

Harvey Elliott (for Nunez 74)

Once again brought extra enthusiasm to the Liverpool attack and careful in possession, and struck a fantastic winner.
