After practice on Thursday, the New Orleans Saints injury report didn’t alter much, which can be viewed as both a positive and a negative thing. Star wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) and youngsters Isaiah Foskey (quadricep) and Kendre Miller (ankle) are the three players still out with injuries.
If Olave is unable to play on Sunday against the New York Giants, it will be felt greatly. He is the primary receiver for the squad and their greatest throwing threat. Fortunately, Michael Thomas (knee) is still on injured reserve, and Rashid Shaheed (thigh) is scheduled to play this week after missing some time. Nevertheless, Derek Carr’s receiving corps will be very thin without Olave.
Fortunately, though, no players experienced any difficulties on Thursday. Andrus Peat, a left tackle, was fully involved despite missing Wednesday’s practice due to sickness. Taysom Hill, the quarterback, was one of the five other players who was once again limited (foot/left hand). The team is doing well overall.
Will that therefore be sufficient to settle the score against the Giants? All we can do is wait and see. The whole Thursday injury report is available here:
