In the decisive leg, Michael van Gerwen overcame a 9–7 deficit to defeat Luke Humphries to go to the 2022 Masters Quarterfinals.

Even though Van Gerwen’s performance wasn’t his greatest, he still advanced to a Sunday afternoon tie with Joe Cullen.

 

Too many rusty darts; I wasn’t really paying attention to be fair. Luke wasn’t giving his best; both of us must put in a lot of effort to win your legs and score the appropriate amount. I made a lot of blunders in addition to my doubles. “You shouldn’t put yourself in that situation,” Van Gerwen remarked following the game.

“If this would have happened to me last year, I probably would have lost this game and now I’m winning so the confidence is there but it has to be better as simple as that.”
