After falling to Marco Fu 6-2 on Wednesday, world No. 1 Ronnie O’Sullivan was eliminated from the invitational Macau Masters at the quarterfinal stage.
In an exhibition match held at the Wynn Palace on Christmas Day, O’Sullivan defeated Ding Junhui 6-2, but he was no match for Fu, who exacted some retribution for losing to the seven-time world champion 6-4 in the Hong Masters final the previous year.
Fu will next face Jack Lisowski on Thursday in the semifinals, following ‘Jackpot’s’ decisive 6-2 victory against Kyren Wilson.
