I WILL RETIRE LEBRON JAMES REVEALED IS RETIREMENT DATE

LeBron James, the all-time top scorer in the NBA, put an end to rumours about his future on Wednesday by stating that he still loves basketball and isn’t ready to retire.

After the Los Angeles Lakers lost to eventual winners Denver in the Western Conference final in May, James said he had “a lot to think about” in response to rumours that he was thinking of quitting the game.

However, James allayed any concerns that he could be prepared to step down during a speech at the ESPY awards presentation on Wednesday.

James declared, “I don’t care how many more points I score, or what I can or cannot do on the floor,” following his victory over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the winner of the Best Record-Breaking Performance award.

“I want to know if I can play this game without using any cheat codes. I will stop when I am unable to give everything I have on the ground. Fortunately for you people, it is not that day,” he remarked.

“In my 20 years playing this game and all the years before, I’ve never, ever cheated the game and I will never take it for granted,” he stated.

James, who turns 39 in December, denied rumours that he intended to play in the NBA with one or both of his sons. Bronny James, the oldest of the James brothers, will play college basketball at the University of Southern California the following season and may be able to join the NBA in time for the 2024–2025 campaign.

However, he claimed that mentoring his boys had kept him enthusiastic.

“You know what makes me return each year? “It involves observing and mentoring my sons and their associates,” he remarked.

“Seeing those kids reminds me exactly why I play.” The pure love of this wonderful game is what gets me back to where I need to be, those youngsters.

“Yes, I do still have something.” Plenty left,” he continued.

James said he had often asked himself these kinds of questions in his introspection following the Nuggets loss.

“I mentioned at the end of the season that I wasn’t sure if I was going to play again, and I know that many experts told you guys the same thing.”

“At that very time, I question myself if I can still play the game with all of my effort and not cheat? Actually, for a few years now, at the conclusion of the season, I’ve been asking myself this question. I just never discussed it in public,” he remarked.

In August of last year, James committed to a two-year contract extension with the Lakers, which would keep him with the team until the 2024–2025 campaign.
